Film comes to life when visitors get a chance to view The Dark Night of the Ugly Stick.

Dark Night of the Ugly Stick is a locally produced puppet film that has toured across Canada and has been part of a number of art installations. The film utilizes miniatures and puppetry to create "Pop's shed" - one of the few standing structures in a rural community that has since been abandoned.

The puppet/stop animaton film pays tribute to a simpler way of life pre-confederaion when Newfoundlanders made entertainment through song and homemade instruments. Guests get an inside experiential look into this magic with the opportunity to view the actual scale model used in the film.

Visitors can peer in through the window or spaces in the ceiling to see “Pop” the puppet and his ugly stick along with the intricate props and detail from the film. It's an inside look at the magic that can be created through film.
