Borrowing on the Newfoundland “tall tales” tradition, guests are introduced to a long forgotten family who resided on a remote island in Newfoundland – the Talls of Placentia Bay.
It is believed the Talls refused to leave their home on Talls Island during the time of resettlement in the province. With passing years, this family was forgotten with Talls Island itself disappearing. What became of the Talls remains a mystery. Children and adults alike can get a “hands on” experience checking out artiacts including a giant tea cup, imagine how much food fit in their huge lunch box, and discover the enormous size of their hands to fit in found mittens. With these artifacts and historical images, guests can judge for themselves if this is recorded history or just a “tall tale”. |
