Newfoundland and Labrador Fairy Rescue and Research Laboratory (NLFRRL)
Since 1995, Fairy Specialist Professors have been traveling throughout Newfoundland to study the fairies and offer assistance to those little people in trouble.
It started with the discovery of our first fairy, Spotty, named for the unique colourful spots on her wings, who was caught in carelessly discarded pop bottle plastic. Her struggle resulted in one of her wings being fractured. With care, our professors rescued Spotty and brought her back to the laboratory to heal. After about six weeks, Spotty’s wing had healed and she was brought back to the bog where she was found.
Following Spotty, we discovered other heavily concentrated areas in Newfoundland where fairies live and thrive. It also led to the discovery that many fairies need our assistance in the age of modern day littering and pollution.
For the first time we are inviting guests to visit us, learn more about our work to rescue and heal fairies and view one of our latest patients before they are released back to the forest.
